My first (kind of) US comic book

    comicscorner:

We were discussing what my (Brianna) first comic was since I only started OFFICIALLY picking up issues for myself for 8 or 9 months. Before that I was reading Mike’s comics and trades. I know most of you, Mike included, have collected WAY longer so reach far into your memory and think hard.

So, now we want to know (and be as specific as possible): What was your first comic?

    STRANGE 212 - Aug. 1987 !!!
    ( which contains Alpha Flight #34 / Amazing Spider-Man #279 / Defenders #103 / Avengers #246 )

In France, you don’t buy comics by episode, standard formats are soft covers which collects few episodes from different series.
I was introduced to comics by a friend with X-Men episodes and I started collecting comic books with this issue of Strange.

An interesting fact is that the magazines covers where sometimes original comics cover, and sometimes painted ones made especially by Jean Frisano, a french artist.

You can find some Frisano’s work here : http://thomasfrisano.fr/Jean%20Frisano.htm
and watch out his son’s work too : http://thomasfrisano.fr/
